WHO ARE THEY?
If you date someone with a less than stellar history, chances are best that they won't be sharing this information. Before you start a serious relationship, insure that Mr. or Ms. Right is who they claim to be by conducting background research.
Find out about their past before you start a serious relationship
Finding the right information about someone isn't so difficult if you know where to look.  Let's face it, people lie about themselves all the time. Most people with a criminal background won't be so enthused about sharing their past with someone they either want to date or impress.

"What the world really needs is more love and less paper work."

Pearl Bailey
DES MOINES, Iowa -- More people are doing their homework by conducting background checks before going on a date.

Before going out, one woman in her 20s recently went online to check out her potential date. Drake University students typically use FaceBook.com.

"They can put in interests and where they're from and whatever they need, pictures too," said Drake University student Eleanor Owens.

"Yeah, most people go to Facebook right away. I mean, there's also pictures on there, so you can sort of see if they like to party or if they like to just hang out or something," said Drake student Calvin Davis.

Web site visitors can learn a lot about someone's personality from Web sites such as Myspace.com, but it's only information they want you to know.
